1. FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM alumni association during the period 2016-21

The College has received an aggregate amount of Rs. 19.95 Lakhs as Alumni contribution, during the assessment period 2016-21. This included contributions for disbursing scholarships and contribution for developmental activities in the College. Details of the contributions are given below.

3. SELECT ACADEMIC SUPPORT ACTIVITIES OF DEPARTMENT ALUMNI association during the period 2016-21

The Department Alumni Groups of the MAMOC-GAA extends their supports to conduct several academic activities, including occasional invited lectures, expert interactive sessions, career guidance and support sessions. A brief description of the Academic Support Activities of select teaching Department Alumni Groups are listed below.

3.1. Department of Physics

ALUMNI MEET (ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-17): “ALPHA” is the official name of the Alumni Group of Department of Physics. In 2016-17, the annual meeting of the ALPHA was held on April 9, 2017, Sunday. 55 members attended the meeting along with the staff. The meet was inaugurated by Prof. V. E. Ibrahim, Former Head, Department of Physics. The alumnae expressed their gratitude towards their beloved HOD Dr. P. G. Sabu, who retired on March 31, 2017. Mr. Navas K. V, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Sulfikarali N. K. presided over the meeting.

MEET THE PROMINENT (ALUMNI 2016-17): “Meet the Prominent Alumni” was a unique programme of the Department of Physics in which one of the prominent alumni of the department interacts with the students of the Department. Ms. Sheethal James, Research Scholar, University of Wollongong, Australia, interacted with students   on September 23, 2017. She motivated the students by sharing her working and research experiences

MEET THE PROMINENT ALUMNI 2017-18: In 2017-18, Mr. Ashfaq and Ms. Mubashira (B.Sc Physics,2014-17 batch), MSc Physics Jamiya Miliya University, Delhi, interacted with students on 03 January 2017, as part of the Meet the Prominent Alumni Programme of the Department of Physics.

MEET THE PROMINENT ALUMNI 2018-19: In 2018-19, Ms. Sruthi P. K, Mr. Adilsha, Ms. Anakha R, Ms. Aswani Jaydevan (B.Sc Physics 2015-18 batch), who are currently the students of various Central Universities,  interacted with students on 21 December 2018, as part of the “Meet the Prominent Alumni Programme of the Department of Physics

MEET THE PROMINENT ALUMNI 2019-20: In 2019-20, Ms. Aditya P. S, M.Sc Physics Central University of Kerala, Kasargod, interacted with the students of the Department on 11th June 2019, as part of the “Meet the Prominent Alumni Programme of the Department of Physics

On 26th June 2019, Mr. Rishad, IGNTU University, Madhya Pradesh and Ms. Aswathi Kannur University, Kerala (B.Sc Physics, 2015-18 Batch), interacted with the students of the Department, as part of the “Meet the Prominent Alumni Programme of the Department of Physics

MEET THE PROMINENT ALUMNI-WEBINAR ON HISTORY OF LIGHT SCIENCE (2020-21): Alumnus of the Department of Physics, Dr. Samlan C. T (B.Sc Physics, 2008-11 Batch), Marie Curie Fellow, University of Bordeaux, France, interacting with the students of the Department of Physics in a Webinar organized by the Department on History of Light Science, on 15th July 2020.

MEET THE PROMINENT ALUMNI - WEBINAR ON LIQUID CRYSTAL PHOTONICS (2020-21): Department of Physics conducted a Webinar on Liquid Crystal Display on  5th August  2020. Department alumnus, Dr. Zuhail K.P (B.Sc Physics, 2007-10 Batch), Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Jozef Stefan Institute, Ljuubljana, Slovenia, interacted with students of the Department as part of the Webinar.

3.1. Department of HISTORY

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF GIRL CHILDREN - TALK BY MUBASSIRA (DEPARTMENT ALUMNUS), 11TH OCTOBER 2020: As the part of the observance of the International Day of Girl Children, the Department of History MAMO College, Mukkam, organized a discussion on 11th October 2020, led by Ms. Mubassira, the Alumnus of the Department of History. Dr. Ajmal Mueen, Coordinator, IQAC & Head, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, Chaired the session. Mr. Abdul Rahiman O. M, Assistant Professor, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, welcomed the participants and Mr. Muhammed Anees P. C, Assistant Professor, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, proposed vote of thanks. 78 students participated in the programme

ALUMNI TALK ON THE OCCASION OF INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY BY JIYAD HUDSSAIN AHDAL.V, SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW, UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD, 10TH DEC 2020: As the part of the observance of International Human Rights Day, department of History, MAMO College, organized an Invited Talk by Mr. Jiyad Hussain Ahdal V, Senior Research Fellow, University of Hyderabad and Alumnus of the Department, on 10th December 2020.. Mr. Abdul Rahiman O. M, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Chaired the Session and Mr. Muhammed Anees, Assistant Professor, Department of History, welcomed the gathering

ALUMNI TALK ON CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN JOURNALISM BY BASIM MUHAMMED P. P, SENIOR BROADCAST JOURNALIST, MEDIA ONE NEWS, 23rd Dec 2020: The Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, organized a career talk, on 23rd December 2020, by Basim Muhammed P. P, Senior Broadcast Journalist, Media One News and Department Alumnus. Mr. Basim Muhammed engaged a session on “Career Opportunities in Journalism”. Dr. Ajmal Mueen, Coordinator, IQAC & Head, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, Chaired the session. Mr. Abdul Rahiman O. M, Assistant Professor, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, welcomed the participants and Mr. Muhammed Anees P. C, Assistant Professor, Department of History, MAMO College, Mukkam, proposed vote of thanks. 60 students participated in the programme.

3.3. Department of Journalism & Mass Communication

WEBINAR ON DIGITAL MEDIA INNOVATION & DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP (A TALK ON ENTREPRENEURIAL SCOPE IN DIGITAL MEDIA): Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, MAMO College, organized a webinar on Entrepreneurship, on 10th March 2021, with the aim of supporting the students to acquire entrepreneurial skills. Mr. Sanoop P, (2018-20 batch student) Managing Director, Scrappy Waste Management & Recycling App, handled the expert session. Ms. Brajila M. V, Head, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, MAMO College, Mukkam, presided over the function. Mr. Abdul Bais P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, MAMO College, Mukkam, welcomed the participants and Dr. Smitha P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, proposed Vote of Thanks. 28 students from M.A Journalism & Mass Communication programme participated in the Webinar.

 

HOW TO HANDLE AD IN COMMERCIAL CINEMA - SOFT SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS: As part of the Invited Talk Series organized by Department of Journalism, MAMO College, the Department conducted an Invited Talk on 'How to Handle Ad in Commercial Cinema' by Mr. Maneesh M. P (2014-16 Batch Student), Reporter, Madhyamam Daily, on 13th July 2020. Ms. Brijila M. V, Head, Department of Journalism, presided over the function. Mr. Abdul Bais P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, welcomed the participants and Dr. Smitha P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, proposed Vote of Thanks. 34 students participated in the programme.

 

THE NEED FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS - COMMUNICATIVE SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS: As part of the Invited Talk Series organized by Department of Journalism, MAMO College, the Department conducted an Invited Talk 'Importance of Public Relations' by Mr. Siyad P, (2014-16 Batch Student)  Academic Co-Ordinator, Markaz Knowledge City, on 15th July 2020. Ms. Brijila M. V, Head, Department of Journalism, presided over the function. Mr. Abdul Bais P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, welcomed the participants and Dr. Smitha P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, proposed Vote of Thanks. 32 students participated in the programme.

 

INTERNATIONAL NEWS AND THE STATUS OF COUNTRIES - COMMUNICATIVE SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS: As part of the Invited Talk Series organized by Department of Journalism, MAMO College, the Department conducted an Invited Talk 'Importance of International News and the Status of Countries’ by Mr. Shameel K, (2014-16 batch student) Sub Editor, Madhyamam Daily, on 17th July 2020. Ms. Brijila M. V, Head, Department of Journalism, presided over the function. Mr. Abdul Bais P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, welcomed the participants and Dr. Smitha P, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism, proposed Vote of Thanks. 34 students participated in the programme.

 

3.4. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

TALK ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS A CAREER DEPARTMENT ALUMNUS MR. ABDULLA RASHID M, CO-FOUNDER, MAGNOLABS.IN, 14TH OCTOBER 2020: As part of the Invited Talk Series conducted by the Department of Computer Science, MAMO College, the Department organized an online interactive session on the topic 'Entrepreneurship as a Career', on 14th October 2020. Mr. Abdulla Rashid M Alumnus of the Department, handled the interactive session. Ms. Bilkees K, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, welcomed the participants and Ms. Merin George, Final B.Sc Computer Science, proposed Vote of Thanks.

 

INVITED TALK ON HIGHER STUDIES OPPORTUNITIES IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, MR.
